The most recent data, from the village’s own SAMS2 ( Speed Activated Monitoring System ) Unit,
analysed from its location outside “Langham Lodge” on Binham Road, and, for the first time there,
facing eastwards back towards the crossroads junction at the Church, between 2 nd October and 31 st
October 2023, within the 30mph speed limit area, recorded a total of 31,356 vehicles driving out of
Langham in the direction of Binham and Cockthorpe, with an average daily total of between 22% and
33% of those breaking the speed limit, regular daily maximum speeds of between 50 and 70mph –
and included a maximum vehicle speed recorded at 80mph, on Thursday 12 th October at 3-45pm.
